In addition to the science of sleep medicine, the Washington University Sleep Medicine Center has the expertise of physicians in the fields of neurology, pulmonology and critical care medicine, otolaryngology including head and neck surgery, psychiatry, and behavioral therapy. The center physicians have specialized training in sleep medicine and work closely with consultants in the fields of cardiology, psychiatry and pediatrics.
At the center, physicians are assisted in your care by a dedicated staff of registered nurses, registered polysomnograph technologists, and registered medical assistants.

As of July 2005, the Sleep Medicine Center became part of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). The AASM provides a gold standard by which other organizations and companies evaluate sleep programs, assuring quality patient care through comprehensive clinical evaluation and treatment.The Sleep Medicine Center is an Accredited Member Center of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) for Sleep Medicine Fellowship.

Our physicians have the full resources of Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and Washington University School of Medicine at their disposal. While most studies are performed as an out patient procedure at the Sleep Medicine Center, our affiliation with Barnes-Jewish Hospital makes it convenient to arrange a hospital admission for an overnight sleep study, when clinically indicated.
